MORNING SUNRISE by Ed Doemland (1938-2012) and arranged by Joel Blahník is based upon the plainchant Easter Sequence “Victimae Paschali Laudes” (Mode 1). This beautiful composition uses a spread of differing abilities, however, capturing the flow of chants rhythm is the greatest challenge and goal – –12, 123 —groups of 2’s and 3’s flowing without being ponderous. Excellent addition to the Brass Choir repertoire! Suitable for all college and university ensembles!
