PRELUDE by Robert James Dvorak is a very musical and accessible student solo for festivals, recitals and lessons. Written in A-B-A1 form, this work conveys both the beauty and challenges of life. Tritones in section B reflect the inner struggles and tensions of life. The opening and closing section of the slow, expressive melody utilizes the beautiful register and lush tones of the French Horn.
