YORKTOWN’S CENTENNIAL MARCH has music by John Philip Sousa (1854-1932). Composed in 1881, during Sousa’s tenure as leader of the United States Marine Band, this solid march was composed in honor of the 100th anniversary of the British surrender at Yorktown, Virginia, effectively ending the American Revolutionary War.
