Zelenaj Se/Grow Green, Grass – Sa-Pno – 2 pt
$2.65
Description
ZELENAJ SE, ZELENAJ from Moravian Duets, op. 32 no. 10 by Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904) and edited by Anita Smisek is a dialogue between lovers. The girl fearing that she is losing her love likens their relationship to the dry fir tree and the grass being cut, no longer able to grow and stay green. Yet, her love has confidence in their future and takes hope in seeing new growth taking place on the dry fir tree. Couples often faced difficulties over parental marriage arrangements, the fella having to go to the army for many years, or falling in love out of their social class. The symbolism of “Green” for growth, life and new hope plays a strong part in folk songs. Czech pronunciation guide and English translation are provided. Two-Part Choir with Piano. Grade: M Duration: 3:35
