PANORAMIC PARADIDDLES is composed by Martin Hotton for Percussion Quintet (Latin I – Claves, Maracas, Cabasa, Tamborine; Latin II – Timables/Cowbell, 2 Timpani, Suspended Cymbal/Bass Drum, Drum Set). The “paradiddle” occurs in a number of guises in this work. Fragmented between instruments as at the opening, on a single instrument in its entirety and simultaneously in different time values. Players need to situate themselves to have good eye contact with one another! Grade: 3-4 Duration: 3:14
