Spirit Eagle
As I rise to greet the day, I sing,
I sing to the sweet Mother Earth.
I sing to the good Mother Earth.
From deep in my heart, I sing,
I sing my song of thanksgiving,
I sing my song of thanksgiving
to the good Mother Earth.
I give thanks for all her creatures,
for all her creatures great and small.
I sing my thanks.
I sing for her rivers and streams,
for the sweet waters of her rivers and streams.
I sing to the sweet Mother Earth
for her rivers and streams.
I sing for the forests of green,
for the grassy plains and lush meadows
and the wildflowers that sweeten the wind.
As I sing to the Mother Earth,
a voice rises with the wind
and sings to me from the sacred mountains.
It sings to me. It is the spirit of Crazy Horse!
“They will return, they will return.
My friend, they will return again.
All over the earth, they are returning again.
Ancient teachings and ancient songs
of the earth are returning again.
The ancient songs of the earth
are returning again.”
— John Harmon and Crazy Horse
